Common Misconceptions For Earning Money Online From Blogging

If you want to earn money from blogging, you must be able to launch your own blog(s). However, starting and maintaining a blog is not just about creating a homepage with some subpages and then publishing a few posts in your blog(s). Website traffic building is extremely important especially if you plan on making money from blogging with ecommerce opportunities or even basic advertising campaigns.

There are already over millions of blogs in the internet and therefore chances are high that you are not alone with the blogging idea you have in mind. The keen competition can bury you if you have no plan to promote your blog(s) and let the public know that you are out there. Without any website traffic, your blog(s) will be as alike as non-existent and will hardly earn you any money.

Website traffic is a critical component in making money online and maintaining a successful blog. It determines the rating or ranking (Google called it 'PageRank') of your blog(s). In particular, for ecommerce type of site, sales will definitely go down if the webmasters cannot attract enough website-targeted visitors.
Website traffic can be very vital in terms of advertising as well. The traditional advertising method in the real world is very costly as compared to the internet world. It is also very important in terms of publishing new products. With proper use of internet marketing, new products can now be publicized online without spending too much money.

Popular search engines like Google, Bing or Yahoo are always the main ingredient for your blog(s) to produce new traffics and visitors. In order to ensure that website traffic can make real money for you, your blog(s) must maintain a high standing in search engine ranking. Your blog(s) must also provide reliable and useful information to daily visitors.

In addition, search engines can eventually maximize browsing experience or generated target for your visitors. Unfortunately, still there are lots of webmasters who do not truly understand the significance of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) or ranking.

Search engine ranking has been becoming more and more critical because it brings in new website visitors every day. Although many webmasters or website owners do have good-looking websites, very few of them take serious considerations in search engine ranking.

That is why we think the significance of website traffic should be given a bigger concern or attention for earning money online from blogging. Below is a list of common misconceptions or errors that website owners frequently committed:

(i) Most webmasters do not use keywords smartly. Keywords are very effective in terms of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and ranking. Good keywords can help you getting ranked in search engines and getting valuable website traffics.

(ii) Some webmasters use keywords that have no connection to their websites. Search engines like Google, Bing or Yahoo are now smart enough to identify your page(s) as spam and automatically eliminate your blog(s) from their listing. Once being identified as spam, it will take a very long time to recover your blog(s) and of course, you can hardly earn money from them during that period. As a result, webmasters should maintain their websites with consistent protocols. Any unconnected keywords or topics shall be removed. Your keywords should be highly relevant so that visitors can locate your blog(s) easily

(iii) Replicating repeated or similar keywords. Some webmasters keep on repeating the same keywords over and over again in their blogs. This is called keyword stocking and is bad for SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Search engines may simply skip your page(s) or even delist ranking of the entire blog(s).

(iv) Using stuffed keywords. Some blog(s) have massive amount of keywords or graphic descriptions. Using stuffed keywords can make your blog(s) layered and seemed awkward to most search engines. If any search engine detects your website parameters with massive amount of keywords or graphic descriptions, the search engine will consider your website as spam.

(v) Some webmasters make use of hidden text to 'cheat' search engines. Those 'clever' website designers hide keywords by changing their color the same with background color of website(s). Again, keywords should not be invisible or hidden to real visitors, otherwise search engines like Yahoo or Google can mark such website(s) as spam

(vi) Copy content from other websites. Some webmasters copy content from other websites and use it illegally in their own blog(s). However, search engines nowadays are very powerful in detecting duplicate content. In fact, those webmasters shall have an original and unique idea of their own. To keep your blog(s) earning money for you, you must prevent them from being out- listed due to duplicate content penalty from main search engines such as Google, Bing or Yahoo.

(vii) Many webmasters do not make good use of free web hosting. Using free web hosting such as Blogger, Wordpress or Tumblr etc to link back to your main website. You can then earn free backlinks which are good for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and can ultimately boost your search engine ranking.

(viii) False presumption for all search engines. Most webmasters presume that all search engines have the same rules to play with. Do not fully trust SEO (Search Engine Optimization) or ranking advice without careful considerations. You should understand that Google does have different acceptance criteria for listing as compared to Bing (or Yahoo). That is why you shall study carefully the appropriate listing requirements for each major search engine.

In conclusion, webmasters or website owners should not commit the above said common mistakes so as to gain high-ranking websites and earn more money online. To ensure your blogging successful, you should always take efforts to at least avoid your blog(s) from being banned by major search engines.
